The subject Professional Practice and Individual Professional Practice are the core subjects with a total of 2300 hours.

Students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in the theoretical-practical coursework, learn to provide comprehensive nursing care to clients using the nursing process method, and at the same time understand the fundamentals of public health and prevention. The practicum teaches students independence, responsibility, and teamwork. Emphasis is placed on dexterity, reinforcement of skills, good habits and procedures. The student will work under the direction of experienced health care facility staff.

Practicum in the 1st and 2nd semester is conducted as directed by the practicum supervisor at the Jihlava Hospital under the guidance of the teaching staff or upon approval of the supervisor at other departments.

The internship in 3rdand 4th semesters is carried out every Monday under the supervision of lecturers at the Jihlava Hospital, then in blocks at the end of the semester. This practice includes credit examinations in clinical conditions, which include:

  • providing comprehensive nursing care to assigned clients, including theoretical justification for nursing procedures, investigative or therapeutic procedures performed or planned,

  • demonstration of the student's ability to integrate knowledge gained in the following courses in professional practice: nursing procedures, Anatomy, Physiology, Obstetric Propedeutics, Gynecology, Midwifery Skills

Practicum in 5th  semester is conducted without the supervision of the lecturer. It culminates in a credit examination in clinical settings, which includes:

  • providing comprehensive nursing care to assigned clients, including theoretical justification of nursing procedures, investigative or therapeutic procedures performed or planned,
  • demonstration of the student's ability to integrate in professional practice the knowledge acquired in the following courses: Nursing Procedures, Anatomy, Physiology, Obstetric Propedeutics, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Skills in Midwifery

Practicum Examination - Semester 6

Examination in a clinical practice setting where the student is expected to demonstrate:

  • providing comprehensive nursing care to assigned clients, including theoretical justification for nursing procedures, investigations or treatments performed or planned,
  • Orientation of nursing and medical records, explanation of medical diagnoses in relation to clients' nursing problems,
  • coordinating nursing care for assigned clients, communicating and collaborating with staff,
  • ability to integrate knowledge gained in theoretical courses into professional practice.
