Requirements for Awarding Course Credit

Course credit will be awarded upon fulfillment of the following requirements:

- attendance at the Placement Seminar prior to undertaking the first practical placement;

- attendance at the compulsory field visit (applicable only to Practical Placement 1, where the field visit forms a mandatory part of the course);

- submission of a written reflection on the field visit as part of the Placement Portfolio (Practical Placement 1 only);

- completion of all steps outlined in the placement timeline above;

- completion of the required 150 hours of placement;

- maintenance of a properly completed Placement Diary;

- completion of the required types of placements (one direct care placement, one healthcare facility placement, three elective placements).

Course credit for Practical Placement 5 will be awarded if the student has successfully completed all required placement types during the course of study (direct care placement and healthcare facility placement) and has completed the required competency assessment.
