4. Description of the place of practice

Professional practices are conducted in healthcare facilities providing outpatient, inpatient, and home healthcare services, including prenatal clinics, gynaecology outpatient clinics, and inpatient facilities specialising in gynaecology and obstetrics—encompassing standard wards, intensive care units, delivery rooms, and operating theatres. Further placements include neonatal departments and settings for community-based midwifery care.

Healthcare facilities designated for professional practice meet all legislative requirements and must be approved by the Professional Practice Coordinator via the Practice Portal prior to the commencement of the placement.
