In the case of the first category of work placement (creation of a measurable output, ‘project’-type work placement; see the chapter Description of the placement process), the main outcome of the plůacement will be the student’s own product. Other required outcomes are listed below.
At least once a week, the student must complete an entry in the electronic form of the work log, which is accessible via the praxe.vspj.cz portal, indicating which activities he/she has performed in the relevant period.
The document ‘Final Report on the Course and Outcomes of the Practical Placement’ is a concise report (1–2 A4 pages in length), which must include:
A sample Practical Placement report can be found in the ‘Documents’ section of the portal praxe.vspj.cz. The report must be submitted no later than three weeks after the end of the practical placement. The student must submit the report electronically via the Practical Placement Portal.
The requirements for successful completion of the course Practical Placement include creating a digital presentation and subsequently defending it orally!
Based on the previous document "Final Report on the Course and Outcomes of the Practical Placement" and the Practical Placement Work Log, the student will prepare a digital presentation to defend his/her practical placement orally. The presentation will consist of 10–15 slides and its duration is 10 minutes. In this presentation, the student will summarise:
The student shall submit an electronic presentation to the portal praxe.vspj.cz. The specific date for the presentation defense will be confirmed during the semester. The purpose of the presentation is for the student to inform peer students and department members about his/her practical placement, to develop his/her presentation skills, and to prepare for the situation of the thesis defense.
On the praxe.vspj.cz portal, the student will complete a structured online questionnaire, which will be used to compare the course of the practical placements in various study programmes. It will enable the student to indicate how much he/she used the practised knowledge and skills within the placement and to evaluate the level of readiness for the activity. The report must be submitted no later than three weeks after the end of the work placement.
A template for the document Confirmation of Completion of the Practical Placement and its Evaluation is available on the portal praxe.vspj.cz. This confirmation and assessment are issued by the organisation where the student undertook the practical placement. It must be confirmed that the student has completed the placement or training for the prescribed duration. Furthermore, it must be confirmed that the student produced the required outcomes during the placement in accordance with the approved specifications, or that they conscientiously carried out the specified ongoing activities (depending on the type of placement). A representative of the organisation will complete a questionnaire in which they briefly describe and evaluate the student’s placement. The confirmation and assessment must be submitted no later than three weeks after the end of the practical placement, in paper form to the department’s secretariat and in electronic form (a scan of the signed and stamped document) via the placement portal.
If a student has begun work on their Bachelor’s thesis during their placement, it is expected that they will continue this work as part of their semester project. The seminar paper may then serve as the basis for credit in the ‘Semester Project’ module.
